About Oshki-Aki LP

Incorporated in 2011, Oshki-Aki LP is a limited partnership company between Fort William First Nation and True Grit Engineering. The firm was established to assist the community of Fort William First Nation in building capacity by providing environmental and engineering services. One-hundred percent of the profit from the joint venture is directed back to the community.

Oshki-Aki LP was retained to complete the investigation, design and oversee 1 km of road reconstruction. The work included the following major tasks:

  • Existing condition assessment
  • Geotechnical/pavement investigation
  • Pavement design recommendations
  • Drainage recommendations (curb/gutter/storm/catch basin)
  • Detailed roadway design
  • Contract administration
  • Engineering surveys and plans

Oshki’s specific scope of work consisted of the following:

Based on the Ministry of Transportation (MTO) Pavement Design Manual, Oshki prepared a program that met MTO general guidelines and principles, OPSS and City of Thunder Bay Engineering Standards.
